Deep Run Hollow
This drawing is from the perspective of one standing near the Potomac River
looking up Deep Run Hollow (also called the Upper End of Shaw).  The Railroad
bridge is in the foreground and the coal dump is seen to the center left. As you look
up the hollow road, you can see Junkins Store and Wave McCauley's garage/house.
The dirt road (which later became a paved road) was used for various and sundry
purposes. For example, the road was used for hauling milk from store to house, it
provided a pathway for children going to and from the bus stop, and it became a
temporary track for contests such as the hundred yard dash.
